  • End of 2006...

Merry Crimbo and a Happy New Year =D

(To be honest, that's all I have to say... but I'm gonna keep typing useless stuff to make it at least LOOK as though i'm interesting)

We're approaching the end of 2006; I'm going up to Dundee for New Year; the new FinChap album is getting closer and closer to being released...
I think it's safe to say life is good =D

But let's just time-out for a second and consider a few things:
James Brown, godfather of soul and musical genius, died at around 7am on Christmas morning. Last footage of him up and around, was three days before his death, promoting toys to put smiles on children's faces. He kept going until the end - The best way to go. He will be sorely missed.
Although Christmas/New Year is a time for giving and peace and happiness... It wont stop those megalomanic B-things(seven letters, taboo... use the imagination =D) up top from making profit out of it, at any cost. As Julian Casablancas of The Strokes bluntly put it through his lyrics to "Ize of the World":
    "A desk to organize,
    A product to advertize,
    A market to monopolize,
    Movie stars to idolize..."
How dangerously close we are to:
    "Weapons to synchronize,
    Cities to vapouri-"

Sure, it's not particularly happy, but it's a warning. In simpler terms, watch out.

Anyway, I'm off to prepare to end 2006 in style. See yous.

  • How to express oneself...?

I've just had an avid debate with one of my friends on my use of smilies.
I like smilies. I believe it takes body language to new heights. i use =D when i'm happy, =( when i'm sad >=( when i'm angry, @_@ when I'm confused...
and XD instead of the ever popular(and frankly annoying) online phrase "lol".

But this friend of mine couldn't see how "XD" looked like a person laughing...
So, I have to find another way to express myself?

Well, I do have an alternative... one I do use quite often, but more for actions... *(insert-action-here)*

Please tell me other people can see it, and i'm not just smiling in the dark.

  • 18:35 on Christmas Eve of 2006

As we're nearing the end of 2006, I thought I would take this opportunity to interpret my speech-making skills onto a blog.

Christmas is just under six hours away, though the weather tries to contradict it. Then the New Year arrives merely six days after that. Makes me think, so it does. Makes me think about all the nice people(and all the really horrible people, i suppose) that I've met in the past year and a half. I've definetly changed, and I know I always have this moment of reflection; happens every two months or so, ut at least I know that I can look back and see how I've changed. Unlike some...

I don't really have a target for the New Year as of yet, and I don't know if i can think of one that I would definetly follow through. At least, not without the aid of some mistletoe and a person willing enough to stand under it with me ;D

I've never expressed myself in writing like this before. I have Hibbie to thank for the idea: it definetly helps.

A Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night =D
